The Dominican footballer Pedro Porro will not be in the Spanish team’s next matches against Georgia and Cyprus. The right back, a starter for Tottenham at the start of the season, is thus once again left out of Luis de la Fuente’s list, who is betting on veterans Dani Carvajal (Real Madrid) and César Azpilicueta (Atlético de Madrid).
It is worth remembering that Luis de la Fuente did trust Pedro Porro for his first call as national coach, in March of this year, starting the match against Scotland. However, and despite his good form in the final stretch of last season, he did not count on the Dombenite for the Final Four of the Nations League that Spain won in June.
Luis de la Fuente’s decision now comes at another good time for the Extremadura defender who has established himself in Tottenham’s starting eleven, earning the trust of Angelos Postecoglou on the right wing, although with a new role as an inverted full-back that is taking him to appear more in the center of the field. The English team has two wins and a draw in the first three games in which, for the moment, Pedro Porro seems to have won the position over Emerson Royal, but they will have to continue working to convince De la Fuente.
