The 57th Guadiana Circuit begins the Spanish Cup

The Guadiana Circuit will once again bring together the great promises of national and international cycling this weekend in the celebration of its 57th edition, the 17th as the Spanish Cup. However, it is once again the test that begins the RFEC national championship for the Elite-U23, Junior and Master categories.

The start and finish of these tests will be on Alonso Martín Avenue and more than 600 runners are expected to participate. The route will be similar to other years, passing through Don Benito, La Haba, Magacela and Villanueva de la Serena, which will cause occasional traffic cuts in the transit area.

On Saturday the 25th, the Master category will begin at 10:00 in the morning and the junior test will be in the afternoon, at 3:00 p.m. This last test will be scored for the RFEC ranking. A day in which eyes will be on several runners from Extremadura, but in the case of the Junior category it will mainly be Pablo Lospitao from Dombenitao who will monopolize the attention after his victory last year on this circuit that he knows perfectly. One of the novelties is that this year the Junior test will go from having a route of 80 to 120 kilometers, so there will be one more lap of the circuit and it will start an hour earlier than in previous years.

Finally, on February 26, it will be the turn of the premier category with the Elite-Sub23 race that will begin at 10:00 am. In this case, cyclists complete four laps of the circuit to complete a total of 166 kilometers. A test that the Russian runner Gleb Syritsa won last year.
