There is more and more interest in having a nomination in the En Salsa awards, and there are already three editions of these awards that, year after year, reward the work of Extremaduran restaurants. Organized by this newspaper and its gastronomic section En Salsa, we can finally announce the twelve winners of 2023, and where better than in its own pages.
Although there are six categories, these badges count two different juries. On the one hand there is the popular one, made up of all Internet users who have registered on the website: premiosensalsa.es and who have cast their vote until November 7. And on the other hand, the technical jury, made up of professionals of the caliber of Rafael Riveroprofessor of the higher cycle of Cooking at the Labor University of Cáceres; Francis Refolius, professor of Cooking at the Higher School of Hospitality and Agrotourism of Mérida; our food critics Scarapuche y Don Poleoy Pablo Medranothe renowned Basque chef who has run the Oquendo restaurant in Cáceres for decades and who has joined the cast of experts in 2023.
Thus, the winners according to the professional jury are Veratus (Jarandilla de la Vera) in best opening; La Bistrologica (Badajoz) in the best creative cuisine restaurant in the province of Badajoz; Marchivirito (Badajoz) in best traditional cuisine restaurant in the same province; Alberca (Trujillo) in the best creative cuisine restaurant in the province of Cáceres; AlBalat (Cáceres) is the best traditional restaurant in the province of Cáceres, and Nando’s is the best curator of traditional Extremaduran recipes.
On the other hand, according to the public who is fond of the art of eating, the one who best preserves the recipes and traditions is La Finca Villa de Xarahiz (Jaraíz de la Vera); the best opening corresponds to Macarraca (Villanueva de la Serena); the best creative cuisine restaurant in the province of Badajoz is Agallas Gastro & Food (Mérida); the best for traditional cuisine is La Almadraba (Badajoz); The most voted in traditional cuisine in the province of Cáceres is Casa Claudio (Casar de Cáceres), and Tápara (Cáceres) stands out in creative cuisine.
The gala presentation of these awards will take place on Monday, November 27 at 7:30 p.m. at the Zurbarán hotel in Badajoz, as in the first edition. A Monday, the traditional day of rest in the hospitality industry, has been chosen so that chefs and entrepreneurs in the sector can attend this important event for Extremaduran gastronomy and strengthen ties to all row together.
This third edition of the awards in salsa It is sponsored by the Junta de Extremadura and Apis, it has the strategic partners Cruzcampo and Caja Rural de Extremadura, and with the collaboration of the López Morenas and Manuel Rosa Ortiz wineries, a group of Extremaduran companies dedicated to the food sector.
